Welcome to BetterBe On Track!

Thank you for your interest in our App to help your company, family or group of friends develop healthy behaviours and improve team spirit through a fun team challenge that takes you on a virtual voyage of discovery for one month!

Once you’ve downloaded the app and set up your account as company or group admin, you can choose your Journey:

  • Once your account is set up, browse through our exciting journeys.
  • Pick the one that inspires you most!
  • Indicate how many users will be participating, and our app will provide a customised price.

After this, you will receive further information about how to invite your friends, set up teams and how to use the app or you can read our Quick Start Guide to Get You On Track right here:

1. Invite Your Team:

  • Once you’ve secured your chosen journey, it’s time to invite your teammates.
  • Add their email addresses manually in the app or simply upload a bulk XLS file.

2. Team Set-Up:

  • Your friends and co-workers will receive invites to create accounts and form teams.
  • When they receive their invitation with their unique code, they can download the app and use the code to create their member profile and start creating teams.

We’ll send reminder emails to everyone 2 weeks, 1 week, and 72 hours prior to the start of the journey.

  • We recommend building teams of 3-4 people to keep the competition on an even playing field.
  • Check out our Rules & FAQ section in the app to see a detailed explanation on how to set up teams.

Remember: Teams need to be finalised at 23:00h on the day before the journey begins.

3. Earning points and Winners:

  • Throughout the journey, participants earn points for active travel and healthy eating. Random challenges will pop up throughout to earn extra points!
  • We strongly encourage companies to reward the top teams with real-world prizes like a day off or vouchers and to communicate this before the journey starts.

The different options you have:

  • prize for the winning team with the most points at the end of the journey
  • if you have individuals or smaller teams, create different categories for the prizes
  • smaller prizes for the winners of the week to keep the motivation up (the app will send a pop up at the end of each week with the weekly winners)
  • If you want to go the extra mile for our planet, you can even champion the team with the most CO2-savings!

This will ensure that people stay engaged and motivated to use the app.

Discover an inspiring non-profit initiative right in the app! Rally your company or individual users to make a difference by contributing to its success. Every donation counts towards a greener tomorrow!

Team creation
Welcome to the journey! Once your account is set up, the fun part starts – creating teams!

You have 3 options up until 23:00 on the day before the journey starts:

1. Create your own team. You can either create a dynamic duo or a team of max. 4 players.
Click on “create team” and start inviting your friends and co-workers from the list within the app. They will pop up on the list as soon as they’ve registered.

2. Accept invitations from other teams.

3. You can also decide to tackle the journey on your own, in which case you can just ignore any invitations and wait until the journey starts.

Remember, all teams (or solo players) will be sealed at 23:00 on the day before the journey begins. After this point, no more invitations can be sent or accepted.

Start of the journey – Collect points!
For an entire month, you and your team will be collecting points and navigating through a virtual world, where you’ll uncover and explore fascinating new places.

You have 3 ways to collect points:

1. Walk/Run/Cycle
Go on “My entries” and click on “Activity” to enter your daily distance manually (in km or steps) or simply sync your phone’s tracked data for steps.

For Apple users, your data will be synced from your Apple Health App.

For Android users, you will need to install the Google Fit App, which then automatically synchronises to BetterBe On Track.

2. Eat Healthy
Go on “My entries” and click on “Food” to tick each food activity completed.

3. Random challenges
Take on the random challenges that pop up along the way to go that extra mile and collect extra points!
Important information: Make sure to turn your notifications on!

Winner and prize:
The challenge is won by the team with the most points at the end of the month! See how you can earn points in the “collect points” section above.

We strongly encourage companies to reward the top teams with real-world prizes like a day off or vouchers and to communicate this before the journey starts.

FAQs

  • What if I forget to log my food or activity entry?

    All food or activity entries can also be added later on, just choose the right date and enter your data. Once you’ve entered something, however, it cannot be removed, so please take extra care to only log the things you have actually completed.
    Random challenges are the exception; they have to be completed on the specific day on which they run.

  • What type of physical activity can I count in the app?

    We want to encourage active travel, especially to and from work and finding ways to be more active at work.
    So, walking or cycling to, from and at work can be used to earn points and navigate on the map. Of course, if you work on the weekend or want to go for a walk or cycle on your day off, that counts, too!

  • How do I sync my data?

    For our App to access your step count/distance tracker, you need to activate this in your settings. Then you can just click the “Sync Now” button in the BetterBe OnTrack App, and the data will automatically sync with your Apple Health or Google Fit (for Android) app. For Android users, make sure that your phone has Google Fit installed and if not, please install it to make sure that you can synchronise your steps/distance.

  • Which apps sync with BetterBe OnTrack?

    For now, only Apple Health and Google Fit are able to sync their data with our App.

  • Can I collect points with extra training or when participating at special events?

    We love enthusiasm for special events like marathons and extra training. However, this game is about celebrating the everyday hero in you, so let’s keep those remarkable exploits separate.

  • What if I am on holiday?

    Vacations can be a mixed bag – some are adrenaline-fueled adventures; others are gentle retreats. To keep the playing field level, let’s hit pause on the game during your holiday time.

  • What’s this about CO2 savings?

    Show how much CO2 you have saved – Just enter the distance you’ve covered commuting to and from work by foot or bicycle in the CO2 pop-up section. Our app will then automatically calculate your CO2 savings!

  • Does anyone check my entries?

    We’re all about trust here, as the real joy comes from an honest game with your friends and co-workers. Avoid cheating, be a good sport! Only log the distance you’ve truly covered and the tasks you’ve genuinely completed.

  • Can I contact other players?

    Yes, you can! Share your achievements, upload pictures, and send uplifting messages to your teammates via the team chat. Due to data protection, you will not be able to contact members of other teams or businesses in the current version of the app.

  • What happens if I finish the journey before the end of the month?

    Congratulations on crossing the finish line early! Keep going the extra mile and making healthy choices to continue racking up points. Remember, the crown goes to the team with the most points at the end of the month, the game isn’t over until the final whistle blows!

  • What happens if I don’t finish the journey in the defined time?

    Don’t worry! It’s not a requirement to finish, so be proud of your achievements, no matter how far you’ve got on the virtual map!

  • What happens if two teams have the same number of points at the end of the journey?

    If two teams have the same number of points, the team with the most km travelled wins. If two winning teams have the same amount of points and kilometres, the team with the largest CO2 savings wins.

  • What’s the goal of the App?

    The app aims to show that changing habits can be simple, rewarding, and fun. We want to encourage all users to make small changes that are sustainable over the long term and benefit not only ourselves, but also our planet.

  • What’s in it for me?

    Apart from spending a month with your friends and/or co-workers having fun and joining in some friendly competition, you might just develop some healthy habits on the way! Mainly, you will see that the habits we encourage are easy and quick to implement and can be sustained in the long-term.
